The traditional Kirkin’ of the Council service due to be held this Sunday, 11 September has been postponed. Details of the rescheduled date will be announced due course.
The Kirkin’ is a long-held custom to inaugurate a new term for the local authority where elected members and officials are joined by local organisations and members of the public where a blessing will be bestowed on the Council by the local clergy.
Everyone is welcome. Attendees can gather outside Irvine Townhouse at 1.30pm before a short parade to Irvine’s Old Parish Church at about 1.40pm. The 2022 Kirkin’ of the Council service will take place at 2pm.
