Adult Support and Protection Day 2023

This Monday 20 February is Adult Support and Protection Day. This annual awareness raising campaign acts as a reminder to members of the public to act on any concerns they may have about vulnerable adults who could be at risk from harm, as well as who to contact.

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Neglect and Self-Neglect’, and you can watch a short video online (and below) produced by the National Adult Support and Protection Communications Group to learn more about the signs of each of these types of harm.

You can also find out more about the signs of neglect and self-neglect by reading this 7-Minute Briefing document online.

In addition, representatives of Police Scotland and our social work teams will be at the Portal in Irvine from 10am to 1pm on Monday to chat to anyone who wants to find out more about what to do if they have concerns that someone is being harmed or is vulnerable to harm.

We will be supporting ASP Day by sharing information via our NAHSCP Facebook and Twitter channels throughout the day, so please keep an eye out for these and share where appropriate.

The referral pathway for Adult Support and Protection (ASP) is now online, and can be accessed through Connects using the Adult Support & Protection Referral link.
