Get involved in video project

Would you like to get involved with the upcoming Corporate Parenting team video project?

North Ayrshire’s care experienced young people have written their own Language Charter and Anti-Discrimination and Stigma Policy, both of which are ready to be launched Council-wide this year.

To support the promotion of this, the Corporate Parenting Team is seeking care experienced colleagues to join a discussion on how stigma may have affected them, with an opportunity to elevate your voice by taking part in a small video project.

The team is developing a video that will look at the experiences of care experienced young people and adults, the importance of being trauma informed, recommendations set out in the charter and policy, and more. The aim is to reframe the public narrative of care experience, decrease stigma, and improve the life chances of North Ayrshire’s children, young people and their families.

The video will be shared widely at a screening event, in the press, with Corporate Parents internal and external to NAC, on social media, in schools and beyond, and the team would love to hear from any colleagues who would like to be involved in this impactful project.
