National Suicide Prevention Week

National Suicide Prevention Week starts this Sunday 4 September and ends on Saturday 10 September with World Suicide Prevention Day, where organisations globally come together to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.

Local and national messages will be shared via Facebook: NAC, Youth Services, NAHSCP and Twitter: NAC, Youth Services and NAHSCP, as well as via the new Daily Positive North Ayrshire Instagram page and NHS A&A Public Health team’s Twitter. We would be grateful if services with their own social media accounts could please share these important messages where appropriate.

For more information on the work being carried out in North Ayrshire to prevent suicide, you can read a briefing paper from the NAHSCP’s Choose Life Manager.

If you have been affected by suicide, or are experiencing suicidal thoughts, please seek help and talk to someone as soon as you can. Suicide is everyone’s business.
