New Education supply staff booking system

We share an update on the new Education service booking system for the Council’s supply Teachers, Early Years Practitioners and Classroom Assistants.

Delivery of the Education service across North Ayrshire is supported by our valued supply staff.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our supply Teachers, Early Years Practitioners and Classroom Assistants have provided vital support, enabling our schools to continue to provide education to our children and young people during the most challenging of times.

So, when the supply booking system provided as part of the SEEMiS management information system was withdrawn, the Education service was keen to procure a new system that would be easy for our users to access, deliver excellent management information and reduce unnecessary administration.

The service procured a system called Shiftplan, provided by Cloud Cover IT (in partnership with Riverside TMA, a local web design & software development company based in Irvine).

In July 2021, colleagues from Education and HR began working with the system provider to tailor the system to meet our needs and the new booking system was launched in October 2021.

The result is a new cloud-based supply booking system that users can access from any web enabled device.  North Ayrshire schools can easily place an offer of supply work as soon as they are aware of the need. And, our supply staff can access the system to update details of their availability and both review and accept offers of supply work, all in a few simple clicks! The new system also produces timesheets, which makes the process of paying supply staff so much easier.

If you are a member of Education supply staff and have not yet had the chance to access the new system to add your availability details, you can do so by clicking the link here: https://nac-portal.myshiftplan.co.uk – keeping your availability details up to date will also ensure you continue to receive suitable opportunities to come and work within our schools.

Carole Devoy, Education Resources Manager said: “It has been great to see the partnership working between our colleagues and Cloud Cover/Riverside TMA to create the best system possible for our service. I’d like to thank everyone for the contribution they have made to delivering a system that will benefit all users.”
