Save the date: International Women’s Day Event

North Ayrshire Women’s Aid is holding a special event this International Women’s Day on 8 March.

International Women’s Day is a global awareness event to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and take action to drive gender parity.

North Ayrshire Women’s Aid (NAWA), will use the day to raise awareness of the vital support services available to those affected by gender-based violence.

They will also be celebrating and championing the inspiring women across their support network and most importantly the survivors of domestic abuse across North Ayrshire.

See the poster for full details of the IWD Event taking place at their NAWA Hub, on St Vernon Street Saltcoats from 11am-2pm on 8 March.

The celebration will include:

  • A poetry corner
  • Positive affirmations
  • Lunch provided by sponsors Domino’s Pizza
  • A history of International Women’s Day
  • A minute’s silence
  • Bingo with prizes
  • A holistic therapist
  • And hair and makeup services

International Women's Day Invite to Event
North Ayrshire Women’s Aid is a unique specialist service which provides emotional and practical support to both women and children affected by domestic abuse. The charity based in Saltcoats has been established for women who are currently experiencing domestic abuse, as well as women who have experienced abuse in the past. They support women in the Garnock Valley, Irvine and Three Towns areas as well as Arran and Cumbrae and also have refuges at various addresses around North Ayrshire.
