Staff hard at work at the eCount in the Portal

The residents of North Ayrshire exercised their democratic right to vote last month in the Local Government Elections.

And once again, our Election Team ensured the major operation went without a hitch.

The Election was held on May 5 to elect 33 members to represent the nine wards across North Ayrshire. The following day, the eCount was held at the Portal in Irvine with all declarations made by mid-afternoon.

Returning Officer and Chief Executive of North Ayrshire Council Craig Hatton praised staff for continuing their track record for delivering a smooth election process.

Craig said: “Our Election Team always do a marvellous job to ensure our residents can exercise their democratic right to vote.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank them and indeed all staff who worked tirelessly to ensure the election went off without a hitch.

“Whether they were based at polling places, at the eCount or working behind the scenes, their efforts didn’t go unnoticed and are very much appreciated.”
