This week is Challenge Poverty Week (3 – 9 October). The annual campaign is run by the Poverty Alliance and provides a platform to highlight the very real issues affecting our communities.
Throughout the week we will shine the spotlight on some of the support services and projects delivered across North Ayrshire to help tackle poverty and the Cost-of-Living crisis.
Each day will have a theme and will begin with an introduction video from the Council Leader and video interviews with the Locality Partnership Chairs, who will each talk about their areas and the challenges they are facing – whilst highlighting some of the work being done to help.
Other areas of focus throughout the week include employability initiatives, financial advice, fuel and food poverty help, health advice and housing support. We’ll be sharing information on the great work being done by the Council and our community partners to try and tackle poverty here in North Ayrshire.
