Applications open for buying additional annual leave

As part of our continued commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and work-life balance, the buying additional annual leave scheme for non-teaching employees will open for applications from Monday 24 August 2026.

As a reminder, the scheme enables employees to purchase additional annual leave up to 5 days (pro-rata for part time employees) and spread the cost over a full year.

Please note that applications are not guaranteed and subject to service approval.

The application window will be open from Monday 24 August 2026 and will then close at 5pm on Friday 9 October 2026 and will be for the 2027 leave year. Fill out the Buying Additional Annual Leave application (from Mon 24 Aug) if you wish to apply.

If you are interested in purchasing additional annual leave, you must talk to your line manager before submitting your application.
