Employee health checks book now

Livewell have arranged tw0 health check sessions during the month of July.
Upcoming health check dates: If you would like to book an appointment, please access the booking sheet by clicking on your preferred date below and providing the details required (if there are no times showing for this date, it means all the slots have gone):
Venue: 3rd Floor West Occupational Health rooms, Cunninghame House, Irvine, the waiting room is on the righthand side of the corridor (half-glass door)
Duration and format: Each health check will take around 40 minutes and will include lifestyle and weight management advice along with cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar testing and a scan from the Boditrax machine (a medically approved body analyser and personal profiler to help manage weight loss, increase energy or fitness levels, boost wellbeing, professional training or medical assessments).
If attending an appointment, the following guidelines will help ensure that your Boditrax analysis is as accurate as possible:
- Time of day: It is normal for bodyweight to vary as much as 3-4% in a 24 hour period therefore it is recommended to repeat scans at the same time day. Early morning is not recommended because the body is often dehydrated after a nights sleep.
- Exercise: It is recommended to scan at least 3 hours after exercise and 12 hours after vigorous exercise.
- Recent food intake: After eating a substantial meal it is recommended to wait at least 3 hours before carrying out a scan as stomach contents will add to overall weight.
- Diuretic intake: To prevent dehydration, alcohol and caffeine in large quantities should be avoided 12 hours prior to scanning.
- Full bladder: It is recommended all users empty their bladder before scanning.
- Jewellery: All jewellery should be removed before scanning.
- Medication: Different medications may cause dehydration or fluid retention which will affect results.
- Illness: Some stomach upsets and diabetes can cause dehydration which will affect results. Swelling from injury or other conditions can also affect composition results.
- Menstruation: Water retention in early part of premenstrual cycle will affect body composition results extra cellular water.
- Pregnancy: Boditrax is perfectly safe for mother and baby, however it is not recommended during pregnancy.
- Footwear: Shoes, socks and tights must be removed during the scan. Severe calluses or hard skin on the soles of the feet can also affect the reading.
- Age restriction: No under 16’s.
*Please note the health check does not supersede or remove the requirement for employees who are required to have an occupational health check as part of their role.
