Wednesday 11 February: Full Council Meeting

The February meeting of Full Council will get under way at 2pm in the Council Chambers on Wednesday. The agenda for the meeting is available on our website and you can view proceedings live online.

Thursday 12 February: Supporting Stress Management & Mental Health in the Workplace

Taking place at 11am via Microsoft Teams, the session helps line managers understand the role of Occupational Health in the context of mental health and stress-related concerns, including when and how to make referrals and next steps. The session also outlines additional support available within the Council, such as the Employee Assistance Programme and relevant HR policies and guidance. This week is Children’s Mental Health Week

Stay tuned to Youth Services on Facebook where we will be sharing practical support for children, young people, parents and carers. During the week you can download free resources, activities and packs to take part in our schools, in your community, at home or in the workplace. Full details on the Place2be website. If your team is hosting an event, email us to share your story and be included in the news coverage.

Adult support and protection training

Spaces are left for upcoming Adult Support and Protection training this week:

  • Wednesday 11 February: Adult Support and Protection Level 1 (9.30am until 1pm) – covering the basics of what you need to know to fulfil your legislative responsibilities within Adult Support & Protection. (Please note, those working with the HSCP, should complete ASP Level 2)
  • Thursday 11 February: Hoarding Disorder Awareness (9.30am until 12.30pm) - Hoarding is an extremely difficult situation to both understand and offer appropriate help and support. This training examines what hoarding is, why people my hoard and what we can do as professionals, friends or family members to ensure those affected are aware of the help available

Café on 4 weekly update

The Cunninghame House café is open from 8.30am. The café located on 4th floor east provides lots of choice including healthy options and daily specials. See the most up-to-date menu in the weekly café update.

Deadline for IT device procurement.

As we approach the end of financial year 2025 to 2026, we’d like to remind services wishing to procure new IT devices that delivery or invoice of orders by 31 March 2026 cannot be guaranteed to be included in your 2025 to 2026 budget. Full IT procurement update on Connects.

Time is running out to complete mandatory training modules

The deadline to complete iLearn mandatory training modules is Tuesday 31 March. Managers are asked to please encourage teams to factor in the time to complete the modules as part of everyone’s ongoing development. Find out everything you need to know in the e-learning news update.

Secure space for ‘How Become a Councillor’ workshop

North Ayrshire Council is holding an upcoming workshop to encourage people to get more involved in local democracy. Whether you’re up for making a change in your local community or you want to put yourself forward to be a councillor, come along and find how to get involved. The workshop will take place in the Council Chambers on Wednesday 18 February at 6pm. Full details and booking link in the Become a Councillor news article.
